Around 1855, Dédé moved to Paris to study at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. He studied with some of the leading musicians of the day, including Delphin Alard and Fromental Halévy. In 1858, he graduated with a first prize in violin.

Career

He made his career as a violinist and conductor in Bordeaux where he got married also and later in 1860, he became the assistant conductor at Grand Théâtre in Bordeaux and remained one for 20 years.
